Man, I Love Fishing! is a lighthearted, humorous fishing simulator where the player can explore the environment and fish to their heart's content. This game was made for a game production class, where four other developers and I were all tasked to flesh out a game prototype.

The game's trailer, edited by Jake Weber

The environment of Man, I Love Fishing! has come a long way since we started. The player is able to explore these environments and catch many different types of fish using bait, fishing line, and even a harpoon.
The player can stand on the shore. explore the waters on their boat, or dive underwater to get a closer look at some of the marine life.
Below is the UI work I did for the game as its lead UI designer. The game features an inventory, crafting system, and a journal to learn more information about the game's fish: The Fishopedia! I wanted the game's UI to fit the theme of fishing by having a very "outdoorsy", rugged feel.

I decided to make the top right menu buttons to drop down like fishing line and be reeled back up when the menu is closed. I felt this would really sell the theme of fishing to the player!
Man, I Love Fishing! features distinct areas in which different fish are found. To communicate to the player which area they are currently in (and to add some flair), I decided to create area transition effects.
Below are more various graphics, buttons, and icons that I made!
